Biking and Hiking are at a premium once you venture into White Clay Creek State Park! With 37 miles of trails to explore, you will have no end of adventure.
Ride or hike through valleys, forests, meadows, and across streams and rivers. With epic mountain biking trails, there are plenty of trails to get your adrenalin rush. Want a more relaxed pace? Try riding along the White Clay River on a hard dirt pack trail with tons of incredible sights to see!
Bonus! White Clay not only connects to Middle Run Valley Natural Area, it also crosses state lines into White Clay Creek Preserve for triple the fun. Take your ride or hike to either park if you really want to bag those miles.

PennDel/Pomeroy Trail
These trails intertwine and span the length of the White Clay, giving you the ability to ride from Newark into Pennsylvania and White Clay Creek Preserve. Need a bike? Bay Venture has you covered.
- Access: From Newark, Curtis Mill Park on Paper Mill Rd. From PA, Park Office on London Tract Rd. Additional, Parking lot on Wedgewood Rd. DE.
Whitely Farms Trail
This trail is BEAUTIFUL and such a fun hike or bike. The terrain goes from fields to forests to streams and has some fast downhills if you’re on a bike.
- Access: Nine-Foot Road Parking area off Thompson Station RD
- Biking Difficulty: Moderate
Bryan’s Farm Trail
Bike it. Hike it. Either way it’s top notch. Field and forest views can’t do you wrong here. Plus, you can make it short with cut off trails or take it all the way to Whitely Farms and do a double hitter!
- Access: Possum Hill Parking area off of Papermill Rd
- Biking Difficulty: Moderate

White clay has plenty to trails to choose from! Check the difficulty and get trail descriptions by clicking the link below. Trail conditions can vary from packed gravel to rocky, dirt trails to soft meadow. Make sure you wear supportive footwear and bring plenty of water. These trails are mixed use so watch out for other hikers or bikers.
