Bay Venture Outfitters is a leading paddlesports rental company offering exceptional water sports experiences to people of all ages and skill levels. Located on the waterfront in North East, MD and Bethany Beach, DE, we provide a range of kayaks, paddleboards, and paddle sports equipment, aiming to make water adventures accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Waterfront Staff Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our waterfront activities and lead our team towards providing exceptional service.

Seasonal Position
This is a full-time (30+ hours per week) seasonal position that requires applicants to be able to work weekends and holidays Memorial Day through Labor Day with limited exceptions. An approximate schedule is shown below.
Operational Weekends (April, May)

Key Responsibilities
Sales Management: Work with management to implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets through marketing initiatives and customer engagement. Monitor performance against goals, adjusting strategies, as necessary.
Customer Service Excellence: Ensure all customers receive outstanding service by providing a knowledgeable, friendly team that maintains high standards of professionalism and communication. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Labor Cost Management: Optimize staffing levels and schedules to ensure operational efficiency without compromising service quality. Monitor and manage labor costs to maintain profitability. Complete duties as waterfront staff member (please see Waterfront Staff Member job description for full list of responsibilities).
Safety Leadership: Foster a culture of safety first, ensuring all operations comply with legal and company safety standards. Assist in implementing safety protocols and training programs. Monitor and act promptly to maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.
Team Development and Leadership: Assist in recruitment, training, and motivate a high-performing team committed to the company’s goals and values. Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management, hospitality, or outdoor recreation management, with a strong preference for experience in paddlesports or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales and manage budgets effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and motivating teams.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in outdoor or recreational settings.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification
- Boaters License and on-water experience.
- Ability to move equipment more than 50lbs.
- Ability to provide own transportation and a clean driving record.
- Age 18+
